Fuhrer Engineering AG is a privately held company founded in 1999.
Martin Fuhrer did his studies at Biel School of Engineering and Architecture and gained a degree as engineer in computer science. Today he deals mainly with the conception and realisation of client / server systems and complex web applications for professional usages.
Grails / Groovy is our preferred technology to build complex web applications based on databases. With its flexibility and the short development turnaround times it's very well suited to react rapidly and without big efforts to changing requirements.
We have great experience in developing complex Java applications running on different operating systems. Amongst our biggest strengths is the customization of the user interface with Swing or JavaFX, but also the performant processing of data in a networked environment.
To satisfy the highest demands on performance, reliability, and scalability we rely on the strengths of C++ on Linux in networked environments.

Java Application used to display worldwide reference and market data, news, and other information based on the data universe of SIX and third party providers. Besides Bloomberg and Reuters, SIX iD is one of the leading data terminals for the display of real time reference and market data.
Web application used to manage and display fund information, official publication agency for the Swiss fund market. Consists of an administration application for the management of fund information including daily prices, legal documents, etc. and a public web site built with responsive technology, optimized to be used on phones and tablets.
Web application for professional fund managers used to process buy and sell orders in the fund and ETF business. Automatic creation and distribution of PDF forms.
Web application used to conceive and manage incidents in all SIX payment systems. Determines automatically which clients are affected by a given incident and informs them selectively.
Controlling software for optical inspection systems in the production of injection molding parts, e.g. PET bottles and caps. Contact-free detection of defects in form, texture, color, etc.
Automatic reporting of relevant data for ETF’s traded on the Tokyo stock exchange (TSE). Automatic creation of multi-page PDF reports in Japanese language, containing up-to-the-minute market data and key figures from different sources.
Database based expert system for the prediction of potential adverse reactions in the development of new drugs. Modeling of genetic and pharmaceutical relationships.
